| This
programme only targets French-speaking candidates.
September
2006 - July 2007
The
French Ministry of Culture and Communication initiated the International
Cultural University scheme as part of its ever-increasing set of
specialised courses for the cultural sector. This course is organised
by the Maison des Cultures du Monde. Spanning an entire academic
year, the course aims to confer an in-depth understanding of French
cultural policies to foreign executives. At the same time, it equips
them with the all-round knowledge and tools of analysis required
for the conceptualisation and management of cultural projects as
well as for strategy implementation and policy development.
Generalised in content, and thus open to professionals from all
walks of the artistic and cultural sector, this course caters candidates
who hold key posts and have considerable experience in cultural
organisations or in assignments related to cultural and artistic
development in their countries.
The course thus endeavours to heighten awareness among our main
foreign interlocutors about the singularity of French cultural policy.
A cultural policy that is France's explicit reply to the current
debates on the international arena over the defence and promotion
of cultural diversity.
